What I Do

What I Currently Do?
I work as a documenter in our barangay under Solid Waste Management team for *PHINLA Project. I record (video, photos, written) all the activities done by the beneficiaries of the said program, including how much recyclable materials they have collected. Aside from that I jot down all the incoming and outgoing waste in our Materials Recovery Facility aka Waste Bank.
I realized a lot of things since I started working to help this project, you know if only we will work hand in hand together with the help of the government, we can help solve the problems in regards to solid waste management. As the saying goes, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much."

More About Me

I am also a purposeful person. My client count on me for decisive answers and assertive problem-solving. They have come to expect, and I demand of myself, the excellence to provide knowledgeable and opinionated responses to all inquiries. And in all matters, at all times, I am efficient and goal-oriented in my solutions.

My strength, which also reflect on the result of my personal fascination is that I always lead the way, take control of everything and pursue specific goals, that also become my weakness because I cannot work properly if things were not put into order, like everything has to be planned out ahead of time before the project launch, I need something like a flowchart to follow, if without it, everything will turn into mess. That's why I always make sure before I start my work everything is ready, I have research already what I need to know about the task so I can achieve my specific goals.

I also  believe that learning is a continuous process. I always wanted to learn something new that would make me gain more skills or honed my current skills in order for me to sustain and be competitive. Currently, I'm studying the basic of photoshop because all I know is Canva and its editing tools is limited, unlike photoshop where you can do a lot of editing stuff. I believe these skills would bring me to the next level of freelancing.

The Other Side Of Me

I've been doing freelancing for a year now, the thing is I'm doing it voluntarily, almost for free of charge because my goal is just to gain experience which I can add up to my portfolio. Because a year ago, I'm already planning to become a freelancer but I don't where to start that's why I asked my cousin to work for her so that I can apply my little knowledge in Social Media Marketing. I decided to become a freelancer because I think this has been my calling, I feel good creating designs, I feel happy whenever my client is satisfied with my output. And personally, I wanted to earn while spending time with my parents, you know we're busy growing up and we don't notice they're also growing old. This is the only way I know to earn big without leaving the country.

To be honest, I can work with a team when it comes to planning out things, organizing, sending reports to my boss, but when it comes to creativity like creating graphic designs or deciding how a layout should be, I prefer to work alone.

My long term goal as a freelancer is to see myself as a successful freelancer, to provide clients satisfaction, of course earn the trust of my clients, and build a better portfolio. On the other hand, I wanted to give back by helping others especially those who wanted know how to become freelancer.

I take negative feedback by not taking it personally. I consider them as constructive criticism which I can use to make myself better professionally.

Aside from that, to tell you more about myself, I am also an Agriculture and Solid Waste Management advocate. I believe they should come along together. I believe in promoting sustainability, in zero waste, and growing our own foods in our backyard. I love taking photographs about natures and my environment to show to the world where I grow up and how everyone can have a simple life and be happy at the same time.
